Why Long Term Care Insurance?
This is my story. One of four kids, that's me. I was initially the only one of the four to continue to reside in the same city as my parents as an adult. I was offering LTC insurance at the time. In order to aid them if they got sick, my parents and I agreed to get them a long-term care insurance policy. They were against moving into a nursing home. My father eventually did get sick, and we had to occasionally use their long-term care insurance policy for the following 14 years until he passed away. Because the burden of caring for my father led to her health deteriorating, we had to use the coverage for my mother when he passed away. It is not uncommon for the caregiver to develop a chronic illness as a result of their work. Because the other children decided not to assist with her care, I am now her primary caretaker. Since then, my life has undergone significant transformation. Mom has been healthy for the past ten years despite a number of surgeries and other serious diseases. She is currently 93 years old. I now have health issues as a result of being on constant alert. As a result of my own health concerns and feeling overburdened, I joined a care-giving support group. They pushed me to take better care of myself and accomplish more for myself, which I now do. I acquired my own Long Term Care policy because of this circumstance. I now see that without an Long Term Care insurance, I could not have provided my parents with the care they required or the standard of living they deserved. Many more stories like mine exist in the world. That is why I am committed to educating people about long-term care insurance in the hopes that I may make their lives easier.
